Mana Energy Dress Drive
This is the first contest I am participating with This is Blythe. It’s not just a competition but a great way to participate in some charity work. Gina Garan is supporting a great cause and organization called Mana Energy. She has designed a competition where you may participate in two ways. Here is an explanation from Ms. Garan:
Option A: For a $10 fee you’ll get one of these sweet plain white dresses. Your mission will be to design/decorate it and send it back to me. You will then receive a dress chosen at random from another TIB member.
Option B: You may request up to 5 dresses without paying a fee. Your job is to design/decorate them and send them back to me. They’ll be auctioned off at a later date.
I decided to go with Option B; this method I think would help to generate more money for a good cause. I requested two dresses. I’d would have requested five but I think I only have time for two. I already picked up most of the materials today. I went to M&J Trimming on 37th Street and 6th Avenue. It’s a fantastic store that just sells all sorts of buttons and trims – practically anything you need to add a little special touch to your handmade creations. There I found what I needed for one of the dresses. I can’t give out any details yet but I am very excited to execute this dress.
For the other dress, I’d like to embroider something but I need a hoop that is small enough. I was able to locate a small embroidery hoop but they’re out in White Plains. I have a colleague who lives out there and may be able to help me get this. I hope so because I would really love to embroider a cute little something.
Well, stay tuned for more updates on the development of the dresses for the Mana Energy Dress Drive.
