Last summer I acquired a Groovy Groove Blythe for the purposes of getting her customized.  I already had in mind that I wanted a custom Blythe to resemble Leeloo played by the beautiful Milla Jovovich from the movie, The Fifth Element.  GG was in good condition and came with most of her clothes (no coat) and her alien friend.  I thought she would be perfect for a custom Leeloo Blythe.  I placed myself on a wait list for Blythe Rescue Mission to perform the customization.  Megan does wonderful work.  Check out her website.  She also worked on the McQ Market campaign for Target with Gina Garan.

The wait wasn’t bad at all. Megan was very good about sending updates of who was next and where you were in the line.  In fact, I had forgotten that I had signed up until I received an email from her telling me my number. Before I knew it my ticket was called. I mailed GG today to BRM.  I look forward to the process and receiving my “new” Blythe.

As you can see, the transition wasn’t too bad.  And a great way to tell you that I will be participating in a contest designed by Gina Garan from This is Blythe.  You can read more about it here.  It’s a fun contest and for a charitable cause and I am so excited to be able to participate.  It is a dress drive for Mana Energy.  Basically, Gina will supply you with a plain white dress which you will decorate as you wish and return to her.  The decorated dresses will be auctioned off.  The money collected will be donated to Mana Energy.  If you are interested in participating, feel free to go to this link.  Act quickly because the dresses are due April 1, 2009.

Blythe for McQ?  What’s going on?  Actually, Target is introducing fashion line by Alexander McQueen called McQ Market.  ”High Fashion. Street Smart Price.” is Target’s slogan.  Check out their website.

I think it’s pretty cool that they used Blythe as their models for their advertising campaign.  I like the association of Blythe and high fashion.  And they do make wonderful fashion models!

Finally freed Mackenzie Graham from the confines of her plaid box enclosure. She looks fantastic in person! Her clothes are just so chic and detailed. As you can see she comes dressed in a black top with a ruffled layered plaid skirt. One of the accessories that I just adore are her black booties! They’re so trendy.

Another one of her accessories that I just adore is her cute red beret with a Scottish terrier motif.  And she’s got a fantastic red handbag that works well with the red on her plaid skirt and beret.  Mackenzie also features a cute necklace of (faux) pearls and a pair of black long mittens.

And let’s not forget about her best pet ever, Piper, the Scottish terrier. He’s a well behaved dog. Piper loves walks with Mackenzie. He stays close to her on a red satin leash. Piper is also dressed is trendy doggie fashion.

I must warn you of one annoying thing that I encountered. Her legs are very sticky and so I had trouble getting her socks on. I experienced the same problem with Chloè (MRB). When I mentioned my difficulty of getting Chloè’s sliver fishnet stockings on, Gina advised that I put some baby powder on her legs to make them less sticky and that I should be able to slide the fishets on. I haven’t tried it yet but may try it with Mackenzie. Although I must admit that she looks great without the knee high socks.

I got some dresses, turtlenecks, and some sexy vintage looking outfits. Can’t wait to have a fashion show with the girls strutting down the catwalk. I finally came up with a name for her.  It’s very Scottish.  Her name is Mackenzie Graham.  I really like the name Mackenzie for a girl.  She looks like a Mackenzie, too.  As you know, BWT comes with a pet, a Scottish terrier.  I named him Piper.  You will get to know them shortly…stayed tuned.

They’re here!! I am so excited about my “twin” girls – Heart of Montmartre and Mademoiselle Rose Bud. Wow!

I didn’t think I was able to get HoM because she is a limited doll (3,000 are only being produced and sold). So when I found out that she was available here in the states at This is Blythe, I made sure I secured one for myself. And then I found out that I could also buy Mademoiselle Rose Bud too! What luck!
